Why Am I Losing Hair?
Good day everyone, I hope the week has treated you well so far and that you are enjoying a productive week. Today, I would like to highlight some of the issues that can lead to hair loss. This is a problem that no one wants to have, but unfortunately it is likely to affect many people as they get older. There are many issues that can lead to hair loss, and I will talk about some today.
Vitamin B and iron deficiency
Nutrition plays an important role, not only in your health, but for your hair growth too! A lack of vitamin B can lead to your hair not growing the way it should, so be sure to stock up on your fish, meat and fruits that are not citric. If this does not remedy the situation, try taking some vitamin B supplements to boost the amount in your body.

Iron deficiency can also lead to anaemia, which also results to hair loss, with almost one in every 10 women between the ages of 20-49 suffering from this condition. Other symptoms may include headaches, pale skin, fatigue and dizziness. Like vitamin B, a supplement should help to restore your iron levels to normal, which in turn leads to normal hair growth once more.
Alopecia
This is a condition whereby your body assumes that hair is a foreign object and targets it to get rid of it. An overactive immune system means that your body is confused, targeting hair by mistake. Unfortunately, this causes clumps of hair to fall out at a time and the results can be rather drastic. The condition is not very predictable, as hair can grow back before falling out immediately again.

Lupus
Similarly to alopecia, this is another autoimmune disease which comes about as the body target hair by mistake. However, the damage caused by the immune cells is permanent; in other words, hair will not grow back once again. If the hair loss is not too bad, you can try to disguise it with a new haircut. Short hair tends to be stronger than long hair, and can hide bald spots better.
Potential Treatment For Hair Loss
These problems can sometimes be fixed easily or naturally, while your body may even recover on its own. However, if these problems continue to persist even after doctors have examined and prescribed medications, you may want to seek an alternative treatment.
I previously wrote about Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) which is an effective and permanent procedure which can fix receding hairlines, thinning hair and other hair loss issues. It also looks natural as your own hair will be transplanted from a donor area.
