Introducing Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)
Good day friends, hopefully you’ve all had a great weekend and are fully rested to face the week to come. Today, I would like to introduce a new procedure that we are planning to offer at Premier Clinic – Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). This is a treatment suitable for individuals that are not happy with their hair due to bald spots, thinning hair and other similar problems. Let’s take a closer look at how it works.
What Does It Do?
As mentioned earlier, this method is used to treat patients that have issues with their hair. This is done by using existing hair in what is labelled a donor area. This area will be pre-determined during the consultation session with your doctor and will vary from individual to individual. However, the one thing that sets it apart is that hair will continue to grow in that area, making it a suitable candidate to act as a donor.
Many celebrities have used this procedure, including the famous Gordon Ramsay! (pic from mirror.co.uk)
Using a special tool, hair follicles will be removed one by one from the donor area and then reinserted into the treatment area. This will fill up the bald spots or areas with thinning hair, and the results look completely natural because it is your own hair that is used. In addition, the results are permanent as well so you will only need to do this procedure once! Like planting seeds, some of the hair follicles will not “last” in the treatment area but there is no need to worry as about 90% of the transplanted hairs will.
Any scarring left by the procedure in the donor area is minimal and will not be noticeable in a few days after the hair grows back. Depending on your pain threshold, follicular unit extraction can be considered uncomfortable rather than painful.

There is no real downtime associated with this procedure, and most people will be able to return to their work the very next day. It can be completed in a single session but this may vary depending on the size of the treatment area and your hair condition, but this will be discussed during the consultation session.
