FUE Transplant For Facial Hair, Sideburns And Eyebrows
Good day everyone, it has been awhile since I have last blogged. I hope you all have enjoyed a lovely Christmas and well-deserved holiday break with your friends and family. Today’s topic will focus on follicle unit extraction (FUE), but specifically for facial hair, sideburns and eyebrows.
While some people may have natural hair growth in the right places, some people are unable to grow hair elsewhere apart from on their head (and some may not even be able to!) This is where FUE comes in, which can improve your aesthetic features. Here’s how it works.
How FUE Works
This is a surgical technique which is fairly time consuming; this is because the utmost care is taken when transplanting each individual follicle one by one into the selected recipient area. Hair follicles are taken from a donor area, usually the head, and are transplanted into the facial hair, sideburn or eyebrow region (also known as the recipient area) to reconstruct it or to correct the unevenness or thinning that occurs.

This micro removal procedure makes use of tiny punches of about 0.6mm to 1.25mm in diameter to extract each follicle, before it is carefully reinserting it into the recipient area using a micro blade. Only small scars will be left by the procedure as individual follicles are removed; this also means that post-surgical pain will be kept to a minimum. There is no need to remove sutures either, so recovery is a fairly quick process that should take no longer than 7 days.
FUE can also be used to fix thinning eyebrows (pic from cosmeticclinicdelhi.com)
FUE ensures that the transplanted hair follicles are barely noticeable, as your doctor will carefully ensure each one is facing the right direction in order to make it look as natural as possible. This will give you the confidence you need to appear in public with your new look, without worrying about its aesthetic nature!
Post-treatment notes
Keep the treatment area shielded from sunlight as it will still be sensitive for about two days after the procedure. The shampooing should also begin after this “cooling period”, but be sure to follow your doctor’s instructions regarding skin care of the recipient area. This is intended to prevent any scabs from forming around the follicles, which may increase the possibility of the newly transplanted follicles falling out during the first 10 days following the surgery.
However, do note that all the transplanted follicles will fall out after about 4 weeks, before hair naturally starts growing again in 3-4 months’ time.
