Thermage Radiofrequency Treatment
Good day everybody, I hope you are all enjoying a great start to the week after a fruitful weekend. For today’s blog article, I want to talk a little about a treatment known as Thermage Radiofrequency. It is quickly gaining popularity around the world as it is a non-surgical procedure, and has even been labelled the face lift of the future! Let’s take a closer look.
What Is It?
You’ll be pleased to know that Thermage is approved by the Food and Drug Administration of the United States (FDA), meaning that it is safe and has been tested as a procedure. It is generally used to tighten up your skin, which leads to reduced wrinkles as well as other signs of aging such as fine lines, sagging eyebrows, cheek folds and more.

It is a treatment that is non-surgical, as mentioned earlier, which makes it suitable for individuals that are afraid of procedures that require surgery. Thermage serves to act as an alternative for individuals that aren’t suitable candidates for face lift, as no incisions are made and no downtime is required at all. However, the results of Thermage tends to last for approximately two years, while surgical face lifts may last up to 10 years. Do consult your doctor for further information and to decide on what is best for you.
How It Works
The radiofrequency energy will tighten up your skin as the rate of collagen production will increase, resulting in wrinkles and fine lines being ironed out. A treatment area will be outlined during the consultation session, with a special tip used to deliver the radiofrequency energy to the skin.

All three layers of your skin will be revitalised, with the collagen helping to restore its youthful appearance and elasticity. As your skin now snaps back into place, the signs of aging will be greatly reduced as well as your skin being less saggy. The whole process should take under an hour.
You should feel no pain or discomfort during the treatment, but if you choose a higher setting, there is a greater chance of discomfort; however, the final results will be more impressive. It is up to you and your doctor to come to an agreement about the settings to be used, and of course, this also depends on your skin condition.
Results should be noticeable immediately after the session, and should become more visible over time. There may be some very minor side effects such as bumps, blisters or mild redness in the treatment area, but these will subside in a few days.
