How Does Thread Lift Work?

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a great day so far and are being as productive as you should be! For today’s topic, let’s take a look at thread lift and how it works. Many people opt for this treatment because it is swift and results are usually visible immediately after the treatment. You will shave years off your appearance and look refreshed and revitalised – can you really ask for more than that?

The Procedure

Also known as Polydiozanone (PDO) threads, these will be used to form nets between several threads, creating a structure for which your skin will be supported. PDO threads are absorbable by your body, and will be fully absorbed within 6-8 months of treatment. The treatment is not painful, and you will experience prickling sensations which is similar to that of acupuncture, but an anaesthetic is available to minimise any discomfort if needed. They help to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin, which is a substance needed for your skin to repair itself. This is the key of the treatment as it ensures that results are completely natural-looking, improving the overall complexion of your skin tremendously which reduces signs of aging. Your skin should feel much firmer than before (this is because of the collagen), and facial blemishes such as wrinkles, dull skin or sagging skin should be greatly diminished.

Depending on the treatment area, the PDO threads may vary in thickness and length. Shorter threads tend to be used to treat facial areas while longer threads are reserved for the jawline and neck. In fact, threads can actually be used as an alternative to Botox and can be inserted into facial muscles as well.
