Laser hair removal is a FDA approved procedure, it is proven to be safe and efficient to remove black or brown hair of any body area, of all skin type. It is based on the principal of selective and homogenous photothermolysis with the goal of selectively heating a target chromophore, in this case follicular melanin, with minimal damage to surrounding tissue. 

This treatment is carried out once per month to reduce the density and the thickness of hair. This procedure is considered much bearable compare to conventional plucking, waxing and electrolysis. Before the procedure, a topical anesthesia is placed on the surface of the treatment area to numb the skin. During the treatment, a cooling device is used to minimize the warmth sensation and to eliminate the risk of epidermal damage. The duration of the treatment relies on the surface area, for example: armpit hair removal takes about 10-15 minutes to be completed. There is zero downtime procedure. Some patient does experience temporary redness and mild swelling over the treatment area, however it will resolve within minutes to hours. Post-treatment, it is advisable to avoid direct sun exposure and apply body lotion to moisture the skin. 

The success rate of hair reduction greatly depends on a patient’s skin and hair type, as well as the skills and treatment insight of the practitioner. Studies have shown that an average of 4-6 sessions of laser hair removal treatment can lead to a significant aesthetic and clinical result.
