Osteoarthritis Treatment – Cellular Matrix PRP Injections
We are happy to announce a new type of PRP treatment (platelet rich plasma) for our clients, which is also called Cellular Matrix PRP – a form of osteoarthritis treatment with several benefits. Also known as degenerative joint disease, osteoarthritis is a chronic issue that occurs when the cartilage in between joints begin to break down, causing pain, stiffness, and also swelling.
Medical studies have revealed that Cellular Matrix PRP for arthritis can greatly help to boost the function of joints in the majority of patients, while also relieving the pain. This is a huge improvement to their quality of life. Furthermore, this PRP treatment is a suitable alternative treatment to knee surgery, especially for people that are afraid of undergoing such an operation.
How it works
Your doctor will perform a procedure similar to that of a blood test in order to draw some blood. This is required for the specialised machine which will work to separate the platelets, blood cells and plasma which will be important for the Cellular Matrix treatment. Hyaluronic acid is then mixed together with the isolated substance to create the solution. A fine needle will then inject this solution into your body, where it can take effect and begin the healing process.
The role that hyaluronic acid plays is to hold moisture, which helps to create volume as well as improving the regrowth and migration of the dermal cells. As a result, this leads to a network of hyaluronic acid chains being formed in the treatment area, holding the cells together which helps to strengthen the knee as well as relieving the pain caused by the cartilage that has broken down. The PRP solution works to boost the production of collagen, which will create a volumising effect that replaces the cartilage.
Cellular Matrix for osteoarthritis treatment combines the benefits of both regular PRP treatment and hyaluronic acid. The platelets present from the PRP treatment works to fix the hard and soft tissue that is broken down, containing growth factors that can speed up the healing process. As for tissue regeneration, this is the job of the plasma, which contains many nutrients, hormones and vitamins that work to achieve this.
The key difference between Cellular Matrix PRP for arthritis and normal PRP treatment is that the former is an upgrade to the latter, thanks to the addition of the hyaluronic acid to the PRP solution that is obtained from the blood. Furthermore, Cellular Matrix for osteoarthritis treatment is proven to be a much more effective treatment than just hyaluronic acid injections or normal PRP treatment separately.
Currently, there are no known serious side effects as a result of undergoing Cellular Matrix PRP for arthritis, and is known to be a safe alternative to going under the knife, as mentioned earlier.
Post-treatment
During the initial consultation, your doctor will advise and discuss with you about what can be expected during and after the Cellular Matrix PRP treatment for arthritis, and minor side effects, if any. Do note that it is very important that you take your doctor’s advice into account as results may last between 6 months and 1 year. However, this will be different from person to person depending on the condition of the osteoarthritis.
